A high quality concert dayan. The dayan is rose mahogany, its a great replacement for the limited availability of rosewood coming out of India. Narayan Badya Bhandar is a preferred maker by many tabla artists for his quality workmanship. We have a limited amount of Calcutta Dayans in-stock, all we can say at the moment is that they are very well made and they sound amazing! Nice thick heads & straps, give this drum a deep rich sound. Great for performances.

Great for children
We went to the store & Mickey measured my son's hand (age 8 years). He recommended this as the appropriate size for him. I would recommend making an appointment with Mickey in the store before purchasing, to make sure it is the correct size. It sounds great. My son is very excited to play it.
