Two Scale options C to C or G to G (one full octave), giving our customers full customization. These are perhaps some of the best Shruti boxes available. Features copper-tipped reeds for a full and well rounded tone with subtle harmonics (often described by our customers as a sweet and warm sound). Specially made for Kala Kendar by a private maker in Kolkata.

The quality is much better thant many other shruti boxes I have seen. The price is a bit high, but we do get extra beauty for the extra money. I would recommend !

Ordering from Kala Kendar was one of the easiest online shopping experiences I’ve ever had. Not only was the checkout easy and straight forward, but I was able to contact Mickey at the store in Toronto multiple tones over both email and phone to talk about which instrument would be best for me. He was able to hear what my intention is for using this instrument and make recommendations. This shruti box is perfect for me, and has an excellent sound. It’s warm and has a wide dynamic range that is easily controlled and manipulated. The bag is sturdy and will travel well. I love my instrument.

Wonderful instrument and store

I had trouble deciding between the different shrutibox models, but chose the model S because of its warm tone and subtle overtones. I'm afraid I didn't get the name of the technician who helped me, but he was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. A very satisfying experience all around.
