Be certain to measure the diameter of the wooden barrel (for best results, remove the old head) and not the diameter of the entire tabla head.

great tabla head
I've always played Benares heads, this is my first attempt at a Calcutta head and i am very impressed, so sensitive to tuning and easy to get a good clean resonant tone, even at lowest tensions..

Bought the smallest one available for a really small shell, sounding great with synthetic straps. Sharp and loud, great pudi.

nice Calcutta head
Another great Calcutta head, as usual hard to pull and balance but worth it for a sweet Calcutta sound. Recommend a slightly lose fit for lower pitches.

Quality skin and sihai application. Takes more pulling that other pudis but will be totally worth it. Had an old, beat up shell sitting around, now it's one of the nicest sounding tabla I have, it has stayed nicely at a D, D#.

The head needs a good equal pull overall ....and it was all set to c on one strap......and after a week i got to be c# pitch ...my tabla has a great tone .....thxs kala kendar for ur best quality product....
